Story

Our Story

Kenny Holmes, Jeff Schrock, and Fred Schlorke started The Common Veterans podcast after connecting through their shared military backgrounds and desire to support and uplift fellow veterans. The three founders believed that there was a need for a platform where veterans could share their stories, experiences, and challenges, while also providing resources and guidance to help their peers transition into civilian life successfully.

They recognized that many veterans struggle with various issues such as mental health, employment, relationships, and purpose after leaving the military. The founders wanted to create a safe and inclusive space where veterans could discuss these topics openly, find support, and connect with a community of like-minded individuals who understood their unique challenges.

With this vision in mind, Kenny Holmes, Jeff Schrock, and Fred Schlorke decided to start The Common Veterans podcast. They combined their knowledge and experience to create a platform that would not only give veterans a voice but also offer valuable insights and advice to help them navigate the post-military journey.

By leveraging their own personal stories and inviting guests who had overcome similar struggles, they aimed to inspire and motivate veterans to conquer their own obstacles and pursue meaningful and fulfilling lives after military service.
